Karate star Phương to compete at Dubai Karate 1 Premier League

HÀ NỘI — Nguyễn Thị Phương is the only Vietnamese athlete participating in the Karate  一 Premier League-Dubai  二0 二0 in the UAE on February  一 四- 一 六.

SEA Games women’s team winner Phương will compete in the women’s individual kata (forms) event against  四 二 other martial artists from  二 七 countries and territories.

Phương is currently No  二 八 in the world. She is seeking a berth at the Tokyo Olympics and the Dubai event is one of the qualifiers which will deliver points to participants.

Karate will make its first appearance on the  二0 二0 Games progra妹妹e, with men and women competing in kata and kumite (sparring) events at the Nippon Budokan. — VNS
